User groups provide a way to group users independently of the organizations to which they belong. Administrators can define a user group and assign the user group as a member of a site to make all of its users members automatically.

Skupiny uživatelů umožňují seskupovat uživatele nezávisle na organizacích do kterých patří. Správci mohou definovat uživatelské skupiny a přiřadit je pak jako členy webu, čímž automaticky učiní členy této skupiny také členy tohoto webu.

Roles are groupings of users that share a particular function within the portal, according to a particular scope. Administrators can add roles which can be granted permissions to various functions within portlet applications.

Role je seskupení uživatelů, kteří sdílejí určitou funkci portálu. Správci mohou vytvářet role a posléze jim přiřazovat oprávnění ke konkrétním funkcím jednotlivých portletů. Například můžeme vytvořit roli Tvůrce obsahu, kterému definujeme oprávnění k funkci schvalování u všech potřebných portletů.
